ReplyDeletePipetting Techniques
Pasteur pipettes or transfer
Place the vial in the mouth pipette, if not plastic.
Press the bulb and place the other end of the pipette into the liquid to be transferred. Do slowly up the inside of the pipette using the negative pressure gradually releasing the ampoule required to approximately volume dispensed
The volume of liquid transferred to the second vessel the desired liquid volume again pressing the bulb of the pipette

ReplyDeletePetrochemicals satisfy fundamental needs of modern life. Hardly a day goes by where we do not use or encounter some product derived from petrochemicals: the carpeting on which we walk, the plastic soda bottles from which we drink, the clothing we wear, the fertilizer that grows our crops, the tires we rely on for transportation, the paints we use to brighten our surroundings, the pharmaceuticals we need to remain healthy, the cosmetics women use to enhance their beauty...the list goes on and on.

The oil refining process is responsible for multitudes of products made from crude oil. For example, the following are the products that are produced by Shell Refining Company (SRC).
ReplyDeletePropylene
Gasoline or Petrol
LPG or Liquefied Petroleum Gas
Jet Fuel or Avture
Diesel or Gasoil
Sulphur
The first component needed to make any of these by products is crude oil. Crude oil has many different categories and types that can be found all over the world, and the correct selection of crude oil is a key factor in the oil refining process. Refining is heavily influenced by global factors such as general availability, quality, price and volume, and shipping costs. All of these elements, plus the demand of the market, will determine what individual refineries will be able to make, in what quantity, and where it can be sold.

ReplyDeleteIt consists of a tube with a narrowing at the bottom and at its upper end is attached to a rubber knob to suck the liquid and pour it later. They are used to add liquid drop by drop. It is an instrument of approximate measure, since the volume of the drops depends on the nature of the fluid

ReplyDeleteSeparating Funnel:
ReplyDeleteIs a glass element used to separate two inmiscible liquids, that meaning, to separate two liquid phases with different density. The separating funnel has at the top a taponable mouth by which we proceed to charge its inside and at the bottom has a stopcock that regulates or stop the flow of liquid through the tube having at its lower end.
